Not-So-Smart Asses

Want proof that our national educational system is failing our children and that children are getting as smart as we might have hoped? Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, we proudly present (not so proudly actually) exhibit A.
According to the Los Angeles Times, two girls beat up another girl and they were arrested after they posted the video on the Internet.
Ok, video taping a beating is dumb. Putting it on the internet is dumber. Putting it on your MySpace page is practically the same as going to the police department with the tape in hand, showing it to the police officers who prosecute juveniles for assault and giving them popcorn and Sno-Caps while they watch it.
Of course, the story did not release the names of the two girls they arrested because of their ages, but for the purposes of this story, we’d like to think their real names are Tweedledumb and Tweedledumbass.

Charles, The king of stupid has two nominees for “Empress of Stupidity”. How much stupider could someone get? Posting the video on Myspace is the equivalent of saying ‘Look at me! I’m dumber than a Jackass!!!!’ and that is saying something. All I can say is: “IDIOTS!!!!”

I find your spelling of “atroshous” quite atrocious. Are you angry that your idea of posting your video on MySpace was considered dumb?

Firefox has this great feature that actually spell checks posts as you write them and underlines misspelled words. Maybe Allie should make the switch.
Ironically, it caught it when I almost misspelled the word misspelled just now >.>

It also helps to just learn how to type and spell correctly.
Sometimes, reliance on a technological crutch to correct your spelling and/or grammar could also be indicative of why she can’t spell on her own.

…almost all such “crutches” are simple, innocent tools until lazy people overuse them and turn them into crutches. I’m not trying to insult anyone, just making an observation…

You rely on ‘technological crutch’s every day to get to travel, entertain yourself, and communicate. A large portion of the population owe their life to the ‘technological crutch’ of medicine. Using technology to better yourself is not a negative trait. If we were to suddenly not have access to spell check, then chances are we wouldn’t have access to a lot of other more important things as well and spelling would be the least of our problems.
Of course that ignores the actual point I was making: that being a bad speller in itself is trumped by being ignorant enough to not use easily an obtainable solution. The idea behind the solution is that as they used it, their spelling would improve.
Do you realize how sad it is that I had to explain that to you?
