Drive Thru Robbery

Friday, March 13th, 2009 • Filed under Banks, Robberies

One bank robbery recently pulled one of the dumbest sounding crimes you’ll hear today…and actually got away with it.

A robber in Texas knocked over a bank through the drive-thru lane, according to the AP.

He actually pulled up to the teller window and dropped them a threatening note. The teller, in fear for her safety, gave the man money and took off. Not so funny now, is it?

Police said the man is still at large.

Really? This person seems quite intellegent to me, not only did he actually pull of the crime, he hasn’t been arrested for it… If you ask me, I’d think it was a joke at first before thinking it serious, the sad part in this case is that it’s the Teller at fault and the dumb one in this issue, not the criminal. The tellers at drive thru banks sit behind a thick 6-8inch sheet of tempered glass, what safety did they have to fear? What a moron.

he was just lucky that the teller is a bit off. it was just luck. you don’t know the teller story so don’t act as if you know it.

While the glass may be “bulletproof”, the area between the glass and the building proper isn’t. A powerful enough bullet would penetrate. Unfortunately, thought, the teller never thought to yell duck and dive below that area.

Not real smart on her part

This was not stupid on the teller’s part. The very first thing you’re taught in teller training is the the most important thing is safety during a robbery. A life is always more important than money.

Did you ever think it was a set up job with the teller and the thief. Why, with cameras in use is the thief free, and maybe the teller gets fired??? Just another twist

In defense of the teller, you also don’t know what was specifically written in the note. He could’ve been threatening that he had a bomb in the car, or maybe he said he had someone with a gun inside the bank as well in case things didn’t go smoothly. So really, to jump on the teller’s back in this situation is just wrong.

Ok so yea. I just finally got time to read this. And well. Sh*t. This robber seems hella smart to me. It’d be even smarter if you know. Like he took off the License Plate sh*t. And him and the Teller set it up to get the money together. Hell I’d do it. Well not really…Haha.

^^WTF? I think that they both were dumb. The teller because of the glass and the Robber because of the cameras.

This was the teller’s fault. What was she doing out of the kitchen?!?!?!
