He’s Missing More Than His Wallet

This kind of thing has happened a lot since we’ve started this blog. Some hapless crook leaves his wallet at the scene or a burglary or robbery and gets nabbed by the fuzz. This one beats all of those stories by a very wide margin.
According to the New York Post, one crook returned to the scene of the crime hoping to get his wallet back.
Apparently when he broke in, he stole some cash and left his wallet at the scene, which doesn’t make sense because as soon as I get my hands on any cash (legally of course), the first thing I do is put it in my wallet before it decides to grow legs and walk away like when I’m at the bar or in a strip joint.
He realized he left his wallet there, so he returned and tried to trade the stolen money for his wallet with the man who he stole from. I would have charged the son of a bitch some interest.
The homeowner called 911 and agreed with the robber if he agreed to give him the money first. The money was too big to slide under the door all at once, so he had to do it individually, which gave police enough to show up and arrest him. The story doesn’t say if the robber ever got his wallet back. Hey, a deal’s a deal.
