We’ll Leave the Light On for Ya

ONE OF LIFE’S LITTLE LESSONS #7,991: Always plan ahead or you plan to fail. Don’t be left in the dark. Carry your own torch. Rely less on stupid cliches. (That last one was for me.)

AACHEN, Germany (Ananova) — A German burglar who broke into a sports club was arrested after he turned on the floodlights so he could see in the dark.

Bumbling thief Johann Stark, 46, also managed to switch on the football pitch sprinkler system after he broke into the club in Aachen at 3am.

The club’s groundsman saw the lights from his home and called police. How did he think no one would notice? At least if he had broken in during the day, he would have had a fighting chance.

And how did he manage to also switch on the sprinkler system? The only way it could be worse was if he got his hand stuck in a toilet by the time police arrived.
