Driving While Inane

Drinking and driving is never funny, but I’m willing to make an exception in this case.
A man celebrating the end of his 20 year jail sentence for driving while intoxicated get busted for driving while intoxicated, according to the Associated Press.
He spent 19 years in prison to be exact, after getting busted seven times for driving under the influence. You know, I’m no criminologist, but I’m starting to see a pattern here.
Naturally, the man entered “not guilty” pleas in court on his latest driving charges. Two more and he gets a free pizza.

Something is missing here. 20 years for DUI? What state was he in? Better not jay-walk there. Two month minimum in the slammer.

Click on the link to the Associated Press for the entire article. 20-year sentence was imposed because his seventh conviction included killing a 20-year old man while he was driving drunk.

No, not just a DUI, SEVEN DUI’s. Guy got what he deserved. That nit wit could have ended up killing one of my family members. 20 years? Sounds appropriate. 50ยข says that when he’s out.. he will do it again.

He did kill someone. Now, I’d say he got off light.

IF YOU ARE DRUNK , PARKED , WITH THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING YOU CAN RECEIVE A DWI IF THE KEYS ARE IN THE IGNITION , SO REMEMBER IF YOU’RE DRUNK AND WANT TO SLEEP IT OFF IN THE MEDIAN , REMEMBER TO REMOVE YOUR KEYS FROM YOUR IGNITION!!

IN TEXAS IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL TO BREED A JACK AND A JENNY MULE ON ANY MAIN STREET IN THE STATE , WHAT A FUNNY VISUAL!!

In some states, the keys don’t even have to be in the ignition for you to receive a DWI. The keys being present anywhere in the car is enough for a conviction. I understand what they are going for and why, but it almost seems to be punishing someone for being responsible enough to sleep it off in the car instead of endangering someone’s life.
As to this guy, actually drinking and driving after doing that very thing stole the life of a young man at his hands, he should not be allowed to ever be released again. He’s made it perfectly clear that, given any chance to do so, he will drink and drive again. Who’s life will he take next time?

A friend of mine was arrested for DUI when he was sitting in the back seat, parked in front of his house and the keys weren’t in the car.
That said; this guy got less than he deserved. He killed an Innocent person. I would have given him 50 years. I hope they put him away before he kills someone else. He obviously didn’t learn a damn thing from his stay in prison.

They let him get busted 7 times before serving him 20 years? I could of been 7 bodies. I guess this is the bad side of letting people have freewill.

And he didn’t even own the car he crashed. And he had seven DUIs — one of them in which someone *died*. And he still pleads “not guilty”. Mother****** — *Facepalms*
