Question: what’s worse than a drunken mother picking up her kid from school by driving literally right on the sidewalk? Her Chihuahua Chico is just as wasted.

ISLAND LAKE, ILLINOIS (Northwest Herald) - Police said an Island Lake woman was not the only one drunk in the car she drove this week to pick her son up from elementary school.

Her 4-month-old Chihuahua, named Chico, also might have been intoxicated, police said.

“It’s definitely not something you see every day,” Island Lake Police Chief John Fellmann said. “It’s nothing I’ve ever seen before.”

Diane Marcotte, 49, of 803 Plymouth Lane, was charged Monday with drunken driving and two counts of child endangerment.

Ten to one says this mother doesn’t get a spot at career day. Five to one says she gets a spot on D.A.R.E. day.

Seriously, you have to feel sorry for this poor kid’s mother. Not only is there the humiliation of having your drunken mother make the front page of the local, small town fish wrap with her drunken dog, but there’s the added bonus of it happening in at school. Add in heredity to the mix, and you’ve got a pre-schooler that needs an extra strength dose of Ritalin.

Three to one says Paris Hilton does the same thing to her kid in 10 years.
