Must Steal TV
Usually when I read my local daily fish wrap, I lose all faith in humanity. Story after story just confirms my worries that the world is being run by and for total incompetants. But occassionally, after a long day of reading the fish wrap from front to back, I’ll come across a story about a couple of people who through sheer ingenuity and originality…manage to totally confirm without a doubt that humanity is dumber than a muddy brick.
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) - Police who charged a Cincinnati couple with stealing a big-screen television said they should have thought about a bigger car.
Police stopped Richard and Stephanie North early Wednesday when they noticed their Mercury Sable going down a road with one of the doors open. Police found a 55-inch flat-screen TV on the back seat, hanging out the door.
Earlier, police had responded to an alarm at a TV and appliance store where the window on the front door was smashed out and a Hitachi flat-panel television was missing.
Richard North was charged with breaking and entering and felony theft. His wife was charged with complicity.
Maybe they should have done a little research before they committed their little caper and ask the circus how they get all those little clowns in there.
Police said the couple tried to steal a Hitachi 55-inch flat-screen TV because when they were watching “American Idol” on their old 22-inch TV screen, it wasn’t big enough for Simon Cowell’s ego.
Police have already charged them, so I’m hoping that as a fitting punishment, a judge will sentence them to spend the remainder of their prison term in a shoebox.
