Not Thinking Outside (or Inside) of the Box

Some plans don’t get thought out to their fullest extent. This one probably never even went down on paper.
A man trying to smuggle turtles into the country illegally was caught when he put them in a box marked “scorpions,” according to Reuters.
The scorpions label prompted a border agent to check the contents of the box since certain species are also illegal to bring over the border. You would think someone who’s about to break the law would at least take the time to know what law they are breaking.
What’s worse is the suspect was a former U.S. Border Patrol agent, someone who is professionally trained to know customs enforcement laws. Does ICE train their agents at DeVry?

um.. it could have been a protected turtle species he was trying to smuggle in.. and anyhow that’s besides the point.. he lied about what was in it.. why lie if what he was doing wasn’t illegal?
