High School High

Kids, if it weren’t for the teachers I had growing up, I’d be probably be strung out every day on drugs. Instead, they destroyed my self-esteem and turned me into a good hard working slave that plays by the rules lie a good little cog in the corporate machine, so that at least I could say I wasn’t addicted to drugs. Boy, I sure could go for a drink right now…
FAIRFAX, Va. - A Chantilly High School teacher accused of giving marijuana to a student was arrested at his home on Monday. Thomas Newlun, 53, faced charges including marijuana distribution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to police, Newlun allegedly gave a small amount of marijuana to a 17-year-old student after class last Friday. The boy then gave the drugs to a school security officer.
A teacher selling drugs to a student? That’s quite a shock, especially since given what teachers make and the conditions they have to put up with, it’s usually the students that do the selling to the teachers.
Say what you will about the teacher’s lack of common sense and morals, if he is in fact guilty. Our schools are overrun with drugs and drug dealers, and this teacher had the right mind to deal drugs at his house, not the classroom. Way to keep drugs out of the schools, Mr. Chips!
Of course, the story neglects to ask the most important question, how much extra credit would this kid have gotten?
