Payment Goes to Pot

You would be fascinated to know of some of the weird forms of currency that are used throughout the world. An island in Micronesia would use giant stone wheels as money. The west African region used something called “Kissi,” which were long black sticks that when broken could only be restored to their full value in a special ceremony. And in Verona Beach, Fla., their McDonald’s will accept marijuana as a payment.
Or so one man thought, according to the AP.
The guy just went up to the counter, ordered some food and tried to pay for it with weed. Technically, given the exchange rate and the food’s value, shouldn’t the guy have given the cashier change?
The cashier immediately called 911 and the pot owner tried to get away after he realize what was going on. Ten minutes later, the police showed up and the pot owner only made it as far as the inside of the front door.
The AP reported that the police report did not say what he ordered or if he ultimately got his meal. Luckily, he had some prison food waiting for him, so police should be commended for giving the man a more nutritious meal.

If they took the pot and gave him the food, does that mean that McDonald’s DOES accept weed as a form of payment? Believe me, SOMEBODY in the back would have given up $6.50 to pay for another’s Value Meal if they could have gotten high off of it.
