Getting caught carrying drugs for your boyfriend into a courthouse: priceless (well, it is from my standpoint)…
VALPARAISO, Ind. (Indianapolis Star) — A 16-year-old girl arrested for carrying marijuana and cocaine into a northwestern Indiana courthouse said she was holding the drugs for her boyfriend.
Security guards stopped the girl Monday when a metal detector went off as she walked through it at the Porter County Courthouse. When a guard checked the girl’s coat, she found a plastic bag filled with what appeared to be marijuana and cocaine, police said.
“Anytime you find drugs like that on somebody, that gives you the impression it was for some sort of distribution or sell, said Cpl. Mike Grennes.
She brought drugs into a courthouse. Well, I guess that explains why judges don’t throw out these spilt hot coffee lawsuits against McDonalds and Burger King (see the Dumb Lawsuits blog for an explanation of that joke).
She later told police the cocaine and marijuana she was carrying was actually for her boyfriend. That’s usually not the kind of thing you want your probation officer to hear just moments before you meet him. That and “the cab driver was already dead when he picked us up.”
Unfortunately, the boyfriend in this case likely won’t face charges, but the teen will face felony charges of possession with intent to distribute just for being caught with the stuff. Girl, you know you can do better than him. Someone needs to get her groove back.
