If it comes back to you, then you’ve found a sign of true love. If it comes back to you dead, then it’s a sign of sheer stupidity.
DORSET, England (BBC News) — Two rescue birds have died after a hole was cut in the fence of their aviary in order to let them free.
The birds were two of three released from the Bournemouth Central Gardens Aviary in Dorset on Friday. The third bird returned of its own accord.
Freeing the birds in fact caused their deaths, police said.
There’s a sick ironic lesson here. Imprisonment ensures life, but freedom carries a risk of death. Yea! How’s that for literary genius? Kiss my ass, Aesop.
The people who released the animals were not caught, but police said they have committed a crime. I assume those charges could include vandalism, destruction of property and violating local animal leash laws.
The good news is one of the three birds returned to the sanctuary on its own accord safe and sound. The bad news is it was in a bucket from Kentucky Fried Chicken.
