You Can Judge a Man By the Content of His Finger
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 • Filed under Assaults, Other
I honestly believe that the universe allows every human being the opportunity to give one person the finger consequence free. Needless to say, this isn’t one of them.
A guy facing assault charges gave his judge the finger (yes that finger), according to the Daily Herald.
The judge asked him to raise his right hand to be sworn into the court and the defendant responded with his middle finger. The only way this guy could be dumber is if he used his left hand.
He also cursed at the judge, so the judge threw a contempt of court charge at him and gave him six extra months in prison where middle fingers have more uses than you might think.

This is the DUMBEST thing that i’ve every seen. I have been a cop for 14 years. All cops have had people given them the middle finger and WE, as police officers, are supposed to let it go, according to the “glorious” court system! And NOW that some punk (agreed he did some pretty bad things to get him to court to start with) gives the judge the finger, the punk gets 6 months in jail????!! So this judge’s thoughts are its ok to give the cop the finger……but woe unto you for doing that to me?? if all us police officers have to endure it…..so should the damn judge!

First of all, when you are in a courtroom, your 1st amendment rights pretty much go out the window. You can be held in contempt just for not taking your hat off in court. ANYTHING you do to piss of a judge can get you a contempt charge. This dud(e) is just an idiot for flipping off a judge. Funny as hell, though.

Rick my heart goes out to you.
We have it a bit better here in Michigan. It’s actually against the law to swear in public. For some reason a lot of people don’t think about it, but every year there is a story or two on the local news about somebody being arrested for swearing. I don’t know if the legal term is swearing, but I do know that it includes people using the middle finger.
Americans may have freedom of speech, but your freedom ends where my ears begin. to paraphrase a popular story when I was in school. I just wish I could remember who had written it.

While there’s a lot of satisfaction that the dork got his in the end, six extra months in jail costs the rest of about $17,500.
Does anyone feel like picking up that high a tab for a judge’s wounded ego?

I can’t blame the guy i mean if i knew i was gonna do a significant about of time i probably would have to. however i dont seem the harm in giving the bird, you see to me its just a simple suggestion ” how about you go f your self” see its harmless.
actually thats all false… well minus i do is it as a suggestion more than a command. but its extremely disrespectful i think that if a guy were to give the bird to a cop it should be the cops decision to break his finger or not. F these almighty judges a police officer deserves the same respect infact with out them the judges would be out of a job..
even still the guy a a story to tell all the punks as he grows old. starts with the judge pissed me off so… and ends with in retrospect it wasnt worth meeting bubba n not being able to sit for a decade or walk properly either

C’mon – in a courtroom? The judge should take it personally – the guy is nuts.
