If movie great Lon Chaney was the master of disguise, we’ve found his nemesis, his doppleganger, his evil goatee sporting twin – a bank robber in New Zealand who took his mask off during a bank robbery.
ROTORUA, N.Z. (New Zealand Herald) — An overheated armed robbery suspect has been caught lifting his balaclava in front of a surveillance camera.
Police have distributed a photograph of the man, believed to be the main offender in a group which held eight patrons and a barmaid hostage at gunpoint in Rotorua’s Ruck’n Maul bar on Sunday night.
That’s like Ben Rothlisburger taking off his helmet during the Super Bowl or Christina Aguilera performing as someone who’s not dressed like a whore or Louie Anderson doing a nude love scene.
Police said they believe the man took his mask or balaclava (translation: mask for people with fat, sweaty heads) because he was hot. Phew, it’s a good thing he wasn’t trying to conceal the contents of his pants.
A total of five people are being sought for the hold up. The unmasked man who fled police custody is described as a large, fat, heavy set man, which says a lot about the robber but not a lot for the Rotorua Police Department.
