“He didn’t think of it as a big deal,” a police officer is reported as saying. A mail carrier was caught off-guard on when a man ran barking from a house across the street and bit him on the shoulder. Plumb then ran back into the house. The mail carrier reportedly suffered minor injuries. Plumb was arrested and charged with simple battery. He was released after posting $165 bond. Yikes. I guess mail carriers have a whole new species to watch out for now.

A man named Earl Devine’s was recently arrested because his bills had Abraham Lincoln portrait instead of Benjamin Franklin’s. Wow, if you’re going to go so far as to committ forgery you think that you would double check that you at least have the right pictures on the bill.
Despite this visual error, Devine’s funny money fooled several establishments around Lafayette, Ind., with one exception.
According to the newspaper The Journal & Courier, an eagle-eyed bartender who received a $100 bill from the 22-year-old man immediately became suspicious of the note’s look and texture and contacted police. Devine fled the scene but was apprehended shortly thereafter.
Detectives called the bills “excellent fakes” in spite of other errors, such as red and blue dots that suggested the bill was printed from an inkjet printer, the report said. Several other businesses in town and neighboring West Lafayette later reported receiving fake money.
Officers found more fake bills in Devine’s wallet at the time of his arrest, but they have not determined if he made the notes or purchased them from another source.
Devine was charged with forgery on July 31.
Man arrested for trying to break into jail

As funny as that sounds, it’s true. A man has been arrested for trying to break into jail. Most normal criminals would be trying to scheme up ways to get out of jail. But, not Ellis Hudson of Union Springs, Alabama. Ellis was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing after he was caught trying to break into the Bullock County Jail. OK, we was trying to smuggle cigarattes into the jail, so we wasn’t completely crazy. But, it’s still makes for a pretty funny headline, doesn’t it? What a perfect headline for Jay Leno and David Lettermen to have some fun with.
Dumb and Dumber

Police officers found a digital camera on a ATM machine at a bank after complaints from customers. They were pleasantly surprised to find pictures of the suspects still on the memory card of the camera. Note to self: Next time I place my camera on an ATM machine to take pictures of people’s bank cards and record their pin numbers, do NOT forget to erase my personal pictures from the memory card first.

An article I read in the news recently gave me a chuckle. And, as the author writes “it makes Michael Jackson look sane.” You would think that a company whose name includes the word Security would know better than to launch denial of service attacks. But it’s true. This Security company would take any email that they considered to be spam and spam them right back with thousands of emails. Well, needless to say this company will probably not be in business much longer. You just can’t blatantly take justice in your own hands and expect nobody to notice.
