Why are their so many instances of criminals leaving their IDs at the scene of the crime for police to find them? Because they left their fake IDs at home.
Columnist Rick Pfiffer of the Niagra Gazette reports how a man entered a drug store and asked for a carton of cigarettes and the clerk asked for their ID to check their age.
The man stole the carton of cigarettes, dashed out the door and left his ID at the scene. Police are looking for the man so they can return him his ID.
The man is still on the run and police have not located him as of yet. He faces a charge of petit theft, which is like regular theft but in a children’s size.
After describing the entire incident, Pfiffer sums it up in one word…”oops.” Who says brevity in writing is dead?
