TV or Not TV
Rememer that episode of “The Munsters” when Herman tries to pull off another one of his hair brained, get rich quick schemes by giving some total stranger his personal identification and the stranger ends up selling it an online chatroom? Yeah, it wasn’t one of their better episodes.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Did Internet thieves steal Herman Munster’s MasterCard number? Crooks in an underground chat room for selling stolen credit card numbers and personal consumer information offered pilfered data purportedly about Herman Munster, the 1960s Frankenstein-like character from “The Munsters” TV sitcom.
They even used Herman’s real address of (care to guess trivia buffs?) 1313 Mockingbird Lane. The thieves apparently didn’t realize that Herman Munster wasn’t a real person. Either that or they don’t get TV Land.
An Internet security company said a fan of the show most likely tipped off the data thieves with Herman’s information. Oh is that going to piss off Herman. He can make an entire house shake and that’s just when he’s happy.
The company also said the thief likely lived overseas where “They really stumble over our culture.” No wonder so many people in the Middle East hate us right now. They must think we’re all giant Frankensteins with vampire children. All we have to do is shoot some copies of “Family Ties” over the border and we’re home free.
