Can I Get An Encyclopedia? Hold The Mayo

Friday, January 14th, 2011 • Filed under Other Weapons, Vandalism

This comical story isn’t so much a crime as it is a public statement against…books? It’s perfectly acceptable to speak out against animal cruelty, racial segregation, and awful music…but it takes a truly strange person to protest books.

According to the AOL News, we have found this truly strange person. A 74 year old woman in Boise was caught damaging the property of a local library in the most unconventional way. Writing graffiti on the walls? Nope. Madly ripping books off of shelves? No. Pulling a Harold Hill and serenading the librarian? Definitely not. This criminal poured a variety of condiments into the library book drop, including mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, and ketchup. Thousands of dollars worth of books were ruined, and she was arrested on vandalism charges. Well, I guess there are always points for creativity
